Frequently asked questions

Everything fabricators ask about AluSync — estimation, quoting, cutting, inventory, pricing and security. Still stuck? We're a WhatsApp away.

Product & getting started

What is AluSync?

AluSync is a cloud ERP built for aluminium and uPVC window and door fabricators. It runs the whole job in one system — CRM, material estimation, quotation PDFs, cutting optimization, inventory, production and invoicing — and lets you measure in soot, inches or millimetres.

Who is AluSync for?

It is for window and door fabricators — from small workshops to larger factories — including manufacturers, dealers and multi-branch businesses. If you estimate, quote, cut and bill aluminium or uPVC windows and doors, AluSync is built for your workflow.

Is it cloud-based — what do I need to run it?

AluSync runs in your web browser, so there is nothing to install. You only need an internet connection and a device — desktop, laptop or tablet. Your data is hosted securely in the cloud and backed up.

Does it work on mobile and tablet?

Yes. AluSync is a responsive web application, so you can use it on a tablet or phone browser as well as a desktop — useful for checking jobs or quoting away from the office.

How long does setup and onboarding take?

Onboarding is included with every subscription. We set up your materials, profiles, formulas and rates with you and train your team. Most estimators are productive within a day because the interface is built to be learned quickly.

Quotation

How fast can I create a quotation?

In minutes. You enter or draw the windows and AluSync applies your formulas, glass rounding and hardware automatically, then generates a branded PDF — with no manual calculation or formatting.

Does the quote show my profit margin to the customer?

No. Labour and markup are folded into each per-window rate and never printed as a separate line, so your sales team can share the quotation without revealing your cost or margin.

Can I add my logo and company branding?

Yes. Quotation PDFs carry your branding and present per-window profile and hardware specifications, so they look professional and give customers the detail they expect.

Can I revise a quote without redoing it?

Yes. Change a window, a size or a rate and the quotation re-prices instantly. You do not rebuild the document from scratch for every revision.

Material estimation

What is soot measurement and does AluSync support it?

Soot is the traditional window-trade unit where 8 soot equal 1 inch. AluSync is soot-native: you enter sizes in soot exactly as your workshop measures, and can also work in inches or millimetres.

Can I enter sizes in mm and price area in sqm?

Yes. Dimensions can be entered in soot, inches or millimetres, and area can be priced in square feet or square metres — chosen per estimation, with conversions handled automatically.

How does AluSync calculate glass area?

Glass is rounded to your factory increments and billed in the correct steps, rather than charged on raw dimensions — so the estimate matches what the factory actually consumes.

How are hardware, labour and transport costs handled?

They are applied automatically as part of the estimate. Hardware is counted per window, and labour and transport are built into the costing — so the per-window rate reflects the true cost of the job.

Cutting optimization

How does cutting optimization reduce waste?

AluSync packs your profile cuts against your real stock lengths before anything is cut, choosing the arrangement that leaves the least unusable offcut. You get a visual layout, the leftover pieces, and the exact wastage for each job.

Does it account for my actual stock lengths?

Yes. Optimization uses the stock lengths you actually purchase rather than a generic assumption, so the cutting plan reflects the material on your floor.

Can it optimize glass and wire mesh too?

Yes. Beyond profiles, AluSync optimizes glass and wire-mesh width to reduce waste, and produces visual cutting plans the shop floor can follow directly.

Canvas designer

What is the Canvas window designer?

Canvas is a drag-and-drop window builder. You compose any configuration — sliders, casements, fixed lights and multi-pane bays — visually, and each pane feeds the price automatically.

Do I need CAD experience to design windows?

No. The Canvas designer is drag-and-drop, not CAD. Most estimators are productive within a day, with no course and nothing to install.

Can I add Georgian bars or grills?

Yes. You can add Georgian bars and glazing-bar patterns to a window visually, without affecting your billable calculations.

Inventory & production

How does batch inventory tracking work?

Every purchase is recorded as a batch with its colour, length, weight, supplier and cost. As material is consumed by orders, AluSync draws down the right batch, so stock and costs stay accurate from goods-in to consumption.

Does it support FIFO and LIFO?

Yes. You can consume stock first-in-first-out or last-in-first-out, with exact weights preserved so job costing reflects what each batch actually cost.

Can I track a job through production?

Yes. An accepted quote becomes an order that moves through cutting, assembly, QC and dispatch, with material committed from inventory — so you always know where a job is.

Pricing & plans

How much does AluSync cost?

Pricing is quoted per company based on your team size and the modules you need, and includes onboarding, training and support. There is no public price because a small workshop and a large factory should not pay the same. Book a demo for a tailored proposal.

Is there a free demo or trial?

Yes. Every engagement starts with a free 30-minute demo using your own window sizes, with no payment details required to book it.

Are there setup fees, and can I cancel?

Your proposal states the full cost up front, with onboarding, training and support included — no per-module surprise fees. Subscriptions can be cancelled per the terms in your proposal, and your data remains exportable.

Security & data

Can other companies see my data?

No. AluSync is multi-tenant with strict company-level isolation, so each business only sees its own clients, quotes, inventory and orders. Your data is not shared with other fabricators.

Is my data backed up, and do I own it?

Your data is hosted securely in the cloud and backed up, and it remains yours — it stays exportable, so you are never locked in.

Industry fit

Does AluSync work for uPVC as well as aluminium?

Yes. AluSync supports both aluminium and uPVC window and door fabrication, with materials, profiles and formulas configured for what you actually build.

Does it suit small workshops or only large factories?

Both. AluSync scales from small workshops to larger factories — pricing and modules are matched to your size, so you only pay for what your operation needs.
